Hi all, just bought a Fisher F4 and excited about trying it out and it should be here Tuesday of all days..lol..But anyway, a friend of mine and I are hunting a Civil War encampment area and I was curious as to what VDI does a button usually display? And should I discriminate out iron or just run all metal? Thanks for the help.

The manual ground balance only works in all metal mode. Hopefully yours is coming with the stock DD coil. I used one back in 2014 and enjoyed it. If I were you I'd try it with no disc. If there is way to much iron in the soil, I'd then think about discriminating out the iron range. I like to hear tones so I never hunted much in all metal mode using the F4.
By the way this is the wrong Forum, the F4 was made by Fisher Reseasrch Labs.
