Looking to get one if these and had a few questions.

1. Is the Camo version worth getting if it doesn't have the "upgrade"
2. What did the upgrade do? I have heard good and bad reviews on it.
3. Are nell coils worth the investment with this machine?

The last thing I want to take into the woods is a camo detector.

The upgrade (DST) shields the EMI better. It also gave my F75 LTD SE a new process. FA = Fast Action. provides quicker target separation.

I have not needed an aftermarket coil. I thought of getting a larger coil if I decide to hunt more fields. But I am very happy using the 9" x 11" DD Coil.

I hunted most of last season with a Fisher F4 (it also had the DD coil). Back in October I ran into a deal and upgraded to the F75LTD SE. Without the upgrade I could only run (BP) boost process at about 60 percent sensitivity at most sites. After the upgrade (in Feb) I can run higher sensitivity. I only have about 80 hours on the detector and have found many old and deep coins.

I heard the SE can get the update but the processor is slower but the ltd has
A faster processor.
What do you this a SE version without upgrade and 2 coils is worth? How about with the update?

No more upgrades are being done. All upgraded machines with DST whether originally SE/LTD or just F75 are the same after upgrade.

All original ltd and se models when upgraded are the same.

The upgrade really does help with EMI--monster difference---with upgraded unit sens can be run at 99 with 0 disc setting in many places.
You get a few extra tones with upgrade
The upgraded units recovery delay has been slowed a bit---more noticeable in Bp process
The All Metal mode is not quite as deep vs non upgraded units
The disc mode is actually shallower than non upgrade units---but to actually see it you would have be in a pretty sanitary site EMI wise to notice.
The Fast Audio process is added with upgrade---enhance separation capabilities of detector
I have one of the upgraded units---I wouldn't trade it for 2 of the nonupgraded units.
The stock 7x11 coil is very good. A tornado coil will get you down a bit deeper.

The F75s IMO should have come original with DST---it's that good IMO

Cheers

So newer models or upgraded still gets as deep as pre updated unit? Seems one of the complaints was the update "detuned" or made it less hot so it seemed you could crank sensitivity higher.

In most site IMO yes they are as deep using in disc mode. Besides with the upgraded units, you can actually tell you have a target under your coil vs a bunch of noise.

Bought a new one today. Still getting the bip bip bip when I put the detector down to dig a target. Reduced my sensitivity down to 60 seems a bit quieter but not much compared to 99

Have you cycled through the frequencies to find the one with the least EMI - if not, that might cure your "bips"

I did . I have mineralized grown here and some electrical lines across my property manual say you may need to turn sensivity way down

The blip blip blip might be coming from your pin pointer. After you do your initial ground grab, I recommend you toggle through the 7 frequencies and pick one of the quiet ones.
