These are the first flat buttons I've ever dug. Four of them on my first day and out of the same hole the shoe buckle, iron buckles, cutlery, and others came out of. Any help with age or ID would be greatly appreciated. Left a nice beauty mark on one.
Thanks for looking.

Sorry I can't help with age/identification but those are nice finds. I would keep detecting that area though as I'm sure more artifacts will show up. Good luck. :icon_thumleft:

Nice group there. 1800 give or take a few years on each. Most 1 piece buttons were done by 1840 or so.

Here is a pic of that days hunt. Except the horseshoes(I find a couple every time). Most of it came from the same hole! The rest was found within a 3 foot radius. More to come...

Thanks! I appreciate the info. I've tried the internet for research but there is so much out there. Any suggestions for reference books or web sites?
