Picked up some cool things at the flea market today. Even sold a lock to a dealer for $15.

2 of these are posted in other sections.

-Cannonball? 4.2 pounds
-Arrowhead? point?
-18th century? hammer head
-Also picked up an 1888 local municipality treasury check and an 8 gram 925 chain for $1

That looks like a cobblers hammer. It's not a cannonball with a flat edge like that. The point looks like a modern one to me but I could very well be wrong.

Ok so, I kind of had a bad day at the flea market, apparently...

Cannonball turned out to be a mystery 4.2 lb iron ball, but NOT a cannonball.

Point turned out to be a modern "knapped" point. Still of high quality, just not at all old.

I found similar hammers that do match the description of mine and I would agree with Diggum that it is a cobbler's hammer. I still think it could be 18th century but that is yet to be determined. Likely, not worth any more than what I paid for it though.

Did you have fun?
Do you like the things you bought?
If so then the day wasn't a bad one, just not a profitable one.
We can't win them all. I spent $300 on a couple of bronzes a while back. Not my area of expertise. They are worth what I paid for them on a good day, if i'm lucky. You didn't see me post those on here though, lol.

I've had plenty of days when I either got skunked or bought stuff that I lost money on. Anyone that says different is bs'ing or not buying on a regular basis.
