I don’t know but this kinda reminds me of a flint lock pistol! What you guys think? I also found the small button a couple of feet away. That could be a a lower ramrod pipe. Is it hollow?

That tab with the hole reminds me of this piece I found a while back which was confirmed to be a lower ramrod pipe from a flintlock pistol...

very small diameter, it would have to be a small caliber but appears to be one

Yes, that's a very nice find. it is indeed a ramrod guide, looks like to an early musket, maybe a Brown Bess. The iron ramrod would slide in it for storage.

It looks a lot like that one! I saw many pictures online and they look very much like it.

Hey guys, I’m looking for ideas on how to apply certain knowledge for example:
This site is rather interesting, so far its on a mountainous region, there are not so many relics, just a couple of flat buttons, what appears to be a very old spanish coin (maravedi) and the place is littered with old lead. I must have dug out like 100+ pieces of lead. They dont look like bullets but they are small and big as a 1 dollar coin in different shapes and sizes. Rolled in small cylinder shapes and little squares and misc shapes. Very little pieces of old dark glass and white and blue european pottery. Something tells me this site dates back to the early 1700’s. Yes this is where I found this piece of ramrod pipe. I tend to think this could have been a military camp site. No wood or nails either. I still want to go and keep searching to see what else I can find.
