Hi everyone, have not been on in awhile and would like to show you my last find, Saturday ,august 18, 2012 the ground was extremely dry and detecting was difficult but I did manage to find this item on a native American site dated 1782-1812 can anyone give me an origin? I know its a vague question. I just wanted to show it of after cleaning the rust off and is about ready to be preserved.

It looks a lot like a dampening lever off certain types of wood stoves.

I wanted to add that is a mighty beautiful Piece you have pictured there! I would like to add that I found a butt plate about 30 feet away from the cock hammer pictured above. My goal is to find a complete rifle! Just dreaming lol!
