Anyone know of any events in the south florida area for metal detecting or just the state of florida in general, please let me know. thanks

Unfortunately for you, you just missed one of the best. The GSBSO was a fantastic event again this year.

I bet with the cash prizes, new detectors as prizes, detectors for raffles, 2 silver 25 oz bar prizes, 4-6 4 oz silver bar prizes, silver rounds, gold coins and the thousands in coins planted there was well over $16,000 up for grabs...............

Mark it on your calandar, next year's is being held on April 3-5, 2009 in Daytona Beach Plaza hotel...

Get a good detector for competion hunts, it really helps to have one with a freq shifter, when your in the middle of 200 other hunters with detectors interfering with yours, you want to be able to shift the freq and keep hunting, time is everything..

As It happens I have a Tesoro Conquistador with a freq shifter for sale now.
