Yep, that's the kind of games this state plays with us.
I'm better off researching to find historic places that aren't already "protected" by the state, then gain the property owner's permission... like the 3-4 fort sites I know of. It's the only way to play fair. And I'm tired of beach hunting anyway.
Live around the corner from Bulowville. It's a no go, unless you like the smell of jail cells, or you can run real fast through dense woods carrying a metal detector.
There are trailer parks and housing developments on either side of the plantation. I maintain that most of Florida State Parks would have been bulldozed and had houses or condos built on them anyway, so I get over it and find other spots. I have a blast doing research and finding locations all over the place. Sometimes I get there and see other thoughtless TH'ers holes, so I'm not the first, but it's fun anyway.
