After about 4 hours of cleaning, this is the One Penny that I thought was a 1930? but turns out it is dated 1919!!! Wow! I was so excited. The method we used was the hydrochoric Peroxide and scrubbing with a tooth brush, this seemed to take forever as the coin was in such bad condition. I ended up using the peroxide with vinegar and Bicarbonate of Soda and this is the end result so far. The coin is in bad condition but at least you can tell what it is now. I am yet to do the back!!! Thankyou everyone!

Hi - I'd say that that coin would be considered "over cleaned"...see my PM for more info on how I would have approached it. You may want to try and post higher resolution pics so we can get a closer look :occasion14: I use a scanner for a lot of my finds here as opposed to a hand held camera or smart phone. If you have a scanner you can get some good images of your finds.

Hi Bobby5, yes I am sure it is 1919. The picture is not all that clear, but to the eye it is definitely that date. :)
