Folsom Lake at its lowest level

Here are some photos and a story about Folsom Lake being at it's lowest level in years.
One town, Mormon Island, was flooded when the dam was built, and the water got so low that you could see the town again - viewable for the first time in many years.

Meanwhile, we've had over 10 days of constant rain, so it's under water again.

Legal? Gee, I never thought about it. I assumed it WAS legal, as
I've run across two other detectorists while there.
I will have to look it up, and get back to you.
In California you cannot hunt in historic sites.

It was against the law to even have a detector in your car. I have not checked in a couple of years but I don't think they would have changed it..Art

I think it's a historic area, within a state park. That might be a problem. I'm not sure.

Yes, that's it.
Since the Mormon site is a historic location, we are not allowed to remove any artifacts.
It even says so in the story referred to in the first post.
