Haha that’s a bad one I bet you thought point for sure ...... iv had a few kayaking in the winter where I reached past my elbow into freezing cold water to feel my killer point turn into a disappointing leaf

Water oak leaves have gotten me more than a few times. This was one of the rare times that I didn't stoop over for nothing though.

I got a water oak in my yard over by where I find points, makes it hard to look when there’s little arrowhead shaped leaves all over

This leaf made my heart jump. On the other hand I do love it when I assume I’m reaching for a leaf and feel that nice solid rock. Even better when that rock is stuck in the dirt a little usually something good then

I was digging at a site where I found lots of beads, and I thought these were some exotic shell bead at first. (I got kind of excited.)

This is how earthworms survive the drought. And they are slimy/messy when they pop.

All kinds of things will get you. In a bean field after it was plowed I thought I had found a bannerstone and when I picked it up and removed the dirt it was a practice handgernad. It still made my heart skip a beat or two.
