It look's like it could have been used for making the notches, It will be interesting to see what everybody else has to say. That is a nice looking point.

i thought i would try to mention to all_atv that this tool used for prairie side notch and also jaw notched points is a pressure flaking tool and not a percussion flaking toll
i am hoping that this would help explain a little better and i give my apologies to you for not making this clear in the first place

yes that makes a big difference, that piece of antler looks just right for the nothes in both prairie side and jaw notched points. the first time i read that you though it was for notching one of these points i though no way. but then this post and i had to rethink and change my mind, i was thinking about the cahokian points that have a lot nowear notch.... i like the way thoughs are displayed in this post it sure helps me to understand and i need all the help i can get .. Terry
