Wow, that is just outstanding quality and workmanship there. You are one lucky dude for finding it and we are lucky for you sharring it with us! Pretty tought to beat that one. IMO it's tough to date though, I would like to hear Matt R's opinion on this one.

Without a doubt, it's an Early - Mid Archaic knife or preform. I don't see any resharpening (but cannot tell much from the picture - look for resharpening at the tip end) which is why I say it could be an Archaic preform. If you have to stick a name on it, Stanfield would probably be as close as you're going to get.
