So this came up out of a gravel pit about 30 feet deep, found quite a few of these but don't have a clue what it is. The shiny part is where it was broke, and the inner core has been exposed and has not rusted and is non magnetic. The exterior almost looks to me as if it was formed from being pushed up in a molten state. But I don't know much about these things. Anyone know what it is?

Looks like a type of Concretion, possibly Ironstone or Hematite.
The are formed thru interaction with water, not molten.
Mars is Loaded with them...

That very well could be. In the second picture you can see a shiny layer, it's a soft flaky almost plastic like layer. Would this make sense if it is what you are thinking?

Slightly to blurry in high zoom to tell. But as a wild guess I'd say it's sand/gravel cemented by limonite. Is there a bog or similarly wetlands nearby?

This was all riverbed at one point in time, and there are wetlands nearby on the surface.
