sitting here today with a splitting headache and the kids playing the gamecube was making it worse so i decided to go outside for a bit.....went across the street and got under the bleachers for about a half hour......found $2.94 in clad and this little change purse.....couldnt get it to open so i stuck it in my pocket and kept hunting...when i got home i took a box cutter and sliced it open to get the clad out so i could add up my totals.....lo and behold...not 1 clad coin in there.....1 '50 silver washington (my first silver quarter), 2 mercs 36 and 43, 1944 nickel, 2 buffalos too cruddy to see the date, 3 wheats 1 unknown and 1950, and 52...and one rusty piece of crap i can only assume is a 43 steel so all in all not a bad day.....oh yeah my headache got a little worse there for a minute when my heart started racing and my blood pressure hit the ceiling lol....its ok now tho
thx for looking

Great little cache!! Aint that fun!!! Good call on the blob of rust. I once found 8 or 9 wheats, stacked on top of each other in coin roll fashion, and in the middle of them was a blob of rust pretty close to yours, which was a steel cent.
Once again, nice find!!
