Well, Mastereagle and I went out on a hunt the other night and ended up at a residence that was right next to a civil war site where we have found a few items in the past. We were pretty excited as we felt the property had never been detected before. As usual, ME22 found better stuff than I did; it seems my only luck is bad luck lately.
Anyway, we pulled up in the driveway to ask permission and this guy was walking out of the backyard. I told ME22 that I would handle talking to him. (That is why we got permission) When I let him do the talking it usually ends up with the cops showing up and him saying to them...."Can't I just dance my way out of this little situation?" I will stop there...I'm not sure if you all just ate, so I will give you a break. Anyway, here is what I found:

A Missouri Sales Tax Reciept marked "1"

I also found a Martin-Senour Free Spirit Paint Token dated 1981....not old, but interesting I guess.

Glad you guys could get out and have some fun. Do you know what the copper item with the small hex head with the pin sticking out of it is. Third pic down next to the pile of zincolns. I have a house site where I have found at least a dozen of them. HH

Those are old style roofing tabs/nails. We find tons of them around here.

Hey BB we had fun and got out. Your luck is saving up for when the BIG hit comes and I think it might be coming this next week!

The axe head is great and this piece looks like a prison shank.

We are planning to go back there. If I can beat ME22 to the stuff, I might find something.

Burdie~
Thanks. We did have a good time.

Yeah, I liked the axe head too. That piece does look like a shank. It is actually a piece of water hose with the brass fitting on the end.

aa~
No ants this time. Saw a few worms though. LOL ;D

mastereagle22~
Thats easy for you to say old buddy....I hope your right. I actually think my "luck" will stem from a new detector. :tard:

relichunters and DD-777~
Yeah, I sure wish I knew if this axe head is civil war era. We were spitting distance from where some action was.

hunterinthesky~
Thanks for the compliment, but even a blind hog finds an acorn once in awhile. :D

Take care all...
