I went out to my favorite field today and did some searching. It was a little cool (~25F) but nice and sunny. I found this nice agate almost right away and wanted to share some pics. It is surely one of my best agate finds of the year. Kind of funny, I spent hours this year searching the largest gravel pit in Northern Minnesota, found many agates but none this nice. Then I walk out in a farm field 1/4 mile from my house and find this within about a minute. I can't seem to find an artifact to save my life but I sure do find agates so it would be hard to complain. :)

Yes, I often leave nice agates as-is but I do think this is one that could be improved by polishing it. I wonder how long it will take to grind it down. I might want to get a coarser wheel than my 100 grit. I thought about just grinding down the area along the top of the last pic as there are some eyes just visible there under the rough.
