I hunted for about 5 hours today on two different sites on the Ohio River. I hit the first spot around 3 PM and hunted it for about an hour and a half and found tons of flint, but no good Points at all. I decided to hit another spot that usually produced some pieces and it did again today. I got there about 5 PM and hunted for 3 hours without finding any good Points, just a couple of brokes that I found as soon as I got there. I was getting a little discouraged and was actually leaving and walking without really hunting when I happened to glance over and saw this baby laying next to a log. I let out a big "HELL YEAH!!!!" and did my happy dance. Then I took the picture, took to the water to clean it up, and kept right on trucking to the car.

It is 2 9/16 long by 1 1/8 wide. It's very translucent and I'm not really sure on the type, but the base is ground and I was thinking a possible Hardin or variant thereof. If anyone has any ideas feel free to share them.

Super point and a very nice find. If it had rounded shoulders I would call it a Tablerock or Bottleneck but since the shoulders are pointed I think it is a Motley. It's always nice to find a point like that outside the normal hunting season.

Thanks for all the replies guys and gals.

I showed the Point to Matt Rowe and he says it's a Table Rock so I will go with his identification. He says they aren't that common, but some Table Rocks will have that fan shaped base and that it definitely is not a Motley.
