So, there I was, helping my dad build a sewing table for mom (she's become a pretty good seamstress since she went to semi-retirement) dad tells me go get his drill out of the washroom. So, i'm looking around fussing about all the junk he has stashed in there when I move a box down from the top shelf and there sits a Maxwell coffee can back in the corner. Now, in the 40+ years i've been all over that house, in every nook and craney imaginable, even got stuck once when I was 11 and dad had to cut part of the wall out to rescue me, I never saw this coffee can until now. So, being the curious minded person I am, I picked it up and immeditally thought "WOW! This thing is way to heavy to have old coffee in it." When I peered inside I saw SILVER! WOOHOO!! :icon_thumright::icon_thumright: Right on top of all the coins was a very nice 1944 Merc. I found the drill and took it AND the coffee can to the sewing room, finished helping dad and afterwards asked him about it. He said he had forgotten about it. lol My parents started collecting the coins the day they were married (Nov 29, 1969) I was born almost a year to the day later. He was pretty reluctant to let me take them home but after some convincing i.e. begging and promising to count and catalog them he released them into my custody. Here's the count and some pics for your enjoyment. Thanks for looking and HH
