After work I went to one of the parks that I've been hunting and after 30 minutes or so of finding only clad, I grabbed my bag and headed towards a hill that I wanted to check out. I always keep my detector on but not swinging while I'm walking because ya never know what you might stumble on. As I was approaching the base of the hill I got a strong signal so I stopped and touched my pinpointer to the ground and it picked up the target so I knew it wasn't too deep. I pushed the tip of my trowel in to the ground and popped this medal out. Not a huge find by any means but damn, this has been a fun first year of detecting. So much fun that I still haven't been catfishing on the river yet and that's unheard of! No complaints though, none at all... ;D

I had to chop out some info on the medal since it was basically a Google map to my spot :icon_pirat:

I could probably clean it up more but I'm not really worried about it at the moment..

3rd place in the 400 meter hurdles ain't too shabby!

Ha! I probably got more satisfaction from digging this out of the ground than the person got from winning it.

Which is probably why it was in the ground :laughing7:
