Would like to get it fixed up since it being my first cool find. I just got my Compadre in mail today, went to this park/bike trail and came home to look what I had. I could barely make it out and thought it was an 1866 quarter at first but the part of shield I can see didn't line up right, so I did a search and from what I can see, it totally looks like a 2 cent piece.

Sorry, my first pics put up, I'll try to turn them right side up. Didn't think they'd come out with phone like they did.

My first coin i ever pulled out of the ground was a 1866 2 Cent. it was toasted just like yours is. Yesterday i pulled a beautiful 1869 2 cent out of the ground. Great find. I love the 2 Centers!
