Nice finds, vinegar work well, there are threads about using it in cleaning and preservation forum. Easy to do just takes weeks to do it. Let it soak and change the vinegar after it turns black, knocking off the loose stuff with a wire brush or tooth pick inbetween.

Nice pile of knives. I find if I over clean the knives I find I loose the insides.

Honestly I would just rinse off as much dirt as possible and then dip them in clear varnish. They will hold together and keep it's beautiful look.

Nice finds Tommy. I like that bell. As far as my knives go, I just water them off and clean with a toothbrush. I let them dry and use a spray varnish or clear coat, then put them in my display case. I have one case alone dedicated to pocket knives and a few large fixed blade skinning knives that I have found. I am big into displaying all of my finds (except coins) for friends and family to enjoy when they visit.
