About 3 months ago, I posted a find on here. It was a Grand army of the republic medal. Dated 1861-1866. I went back to the area where I found it and I am proud to say I found the eagle that was missing. in excellent shape too!!! I added a picture of the whole thing in its originality so you could get an idea of it. thanks!!

Very nice and the pic with both pieces will be very cool. Can you tell what year the dog tag is?

Now that is a neat find, I have a few bottoms but no Eagle tops. One of my bottoms is a reunion badge from Chicago dated 1909 and the other is from Atlanta. Also just found a GAR reunion badge from 1937 from Ohio.

Congrats, Ringfinder

Congrats on getting piece completed. This time around you knew exactly what the eagle was :icon_thumright:

thats cool! If you can get the serial number off the medal, you can probably trace that to its original owner too, which is also super cool!
