Can't believe I found this. I started a garden a few days ago with my mom. We've been working in lately, tilling it up a lot, since we've never had a garden before. Most of our property is gravel, but we do live along a river and there is some very good soil.

This area is rocky, but has a lot of good topsoil in it.

I haven't posted any detecting finds the past few weeks (I'll do this later).

Anyway, the area that I live in is said to be the area of an old Native American settlement from years ago. I commented to my mother yesterday when we were pulling rocks out of the garden...I said, "Wouldn't it be awesome to find an Indian Arrowhead in here?" Of course, she said yes.

Well, today that's exactly what I found. A REAL INDIAN ARROWHEAD.

Here are the picks. The top is broke off (I'm guessing the last half inch or so), but its almost 2 inches long.

Here are the pictures. I've scanned a picture of each side.

I'm simply ecstatic though. Goes along good with the 1885 and 1893 Indianhead Pennies that I pulled from the ground on Wednesday.

dude that is a sweet find, congrats. I've never found one, but I've only really been keeping my eye out for them for the last few months after browsing through the inidan artifacts forum on here. sounds like you spoke that one into existence, WTG!

Really cool. Like Postal, I've never found one either. I'm only now starting to look for them. Near rivers is a great place to find them. I also live on a river. My neighbors sons found two on my property. Dang.

Found about 1/2 to 3/4 of another arrowhead in the garden today. Man...something must have been going on in this area a few hundred years ago.

I'll post a picture as soon as I can.

Hey, Deerhunter, congrats on finding your arrowheads. They look good. Maybe you will find some more of that
good stuff there. Too bad that a detector can't pick them up. It's looking like a lucky garden. LOL
I haven't found any yet but would sur love to.
Lots of luck at finding more.

Those are such ugly specimens, I believe you should just send them over to me. Just send them to Noodle, USA, I'll get them. :tongue3:

So pretty! Congrats! Keep looking!

On the indian artifacts forum...some people are saying that the point I found is somewhere between 5000-10,000 years old.

You made some nice finds there. Now when you get a heavy rain go back out and do some more searching as this will be a good time as the rain will wash everything off real good for you. Hope you make some more great finds......Matt

Those are always a great find, and once you find your first one your eyes will be glued to the ground until that next one pops up.
