Hunted an area I believe has rich history. Dug this old flat button up with a perfect shank! This baby was DEEP! I almost gave up on this target.....almost didn't dig it either, lol...I'm thinking this is late 1700's, early 1800's? Measures in at a hair under 1-3/8".

Not far from this I dug up the two 1957 golf winner tokens. Never know what you're gonna find. 20170330_120450.jpg 20170330_120436.jpg

Only got a couple hours in there. It's a 5 acre property, so I'm going to do small sections and grid till I find a largie or some old silver.....going to dig more "iffy" targets too.

Nice Flatty! Should be some old stuff there lurking in the ground.

It's in a low section of ground.....has had its bouts of flooding. Has about 10" of topsoil then clay. I have to mellow out the f75 since there are power lines close by. Might have to dig any squeak I hear. Probably gonna be at the edge of detection with low sens.

Well done on a really old button.
I don't know how much trash you are encountering but I would dig everything. Especially when you have a history of human traffic going back to the mid 1700's.

Really? Wow! Went there tonight for a quick hunt and got a 1 cent trade token, and silver 37 washington quarter, and thimble. Got that gut feeling an old coin is going to pop up soon. Just realized I dropped the dang thimble....need to retrace my steps when I go back. 20170401_214202.jpg

Yes, just dig every signal that doesn't sound like an iron nail.
