Explored a new lost farm at lunch today. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1491588180.742256.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1491588192.132020.jpg
A couple shacks still somewhat standing and 2 early 1900's foundations found. Loads of farm trash everywhere, so hit the outskirts of the property. Finally a good coin tone. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1491588317.868908.jpg
I see large roundness in the hole, dirt encrusted, but can tell it is a large copper coin slight outline of a bust visible. Thinking, "Yes, finally my first LC ".

I pack up and head back to work. Start cleaning off the dirt and realize quickly (heart sinking) that it is not a LC.

Do some googling and find the that this is a presidential token for FDR in 1945. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1491588732.326222.jpg

This is the second time in 2 weeks that I have pulled a large toasty copper coin from the deep old woods to have my excitement dashed, last week it turned out to be the most toasty 1994 Quarter of all times. At least this time the FDR token is a keeper.

Good luck out there!
