Messing around in my yard today I found my second OD nickel, 1943-P war nickel. The boy and I have hammered this yard and with several different metal detectors. Only played for about an hour but, besides the nickel also found a few other keepers.
Found an old toy beer truck, no maker so hard to tell how old it is. And it was deep. Also found a pendant I thought was pretty cool.
The penny I found I think the kid lost. A couple years ago he was making coin rings and spinners.

That is an old truck really cool sounds great having family time remember to save his first find as a momento I don't know how old he is I just try to imagine if I started this hobby 20 years ago how much treasure I would have. I have never done my yard I think the wife would not be happy !!!!!!! Nice finds

Nice hunt - you are lucky to have a yard that's producing some decent finds! Cool Beer Truck too.

If your gonna find a truck, might as well be a beer truck!:headbang:
I couldn't find any images of yours online, don't think it's "tootsie" brand....
But it could be?...very cool.

Might be a Tootsie truck........they didn't start to use their trademark on the underside until the late 30's or 40's.......
Nice save on the War Nick!!

OD nickel still brings a smile to my face.

Well played DS!

Congratulations on the old toy recovery! :occasion14:

Great scores, Deershed. The truck looks much like one also embossed "beer truck" made by Tommy Toy in the late 1930's. However, yours has an earlier design. They came with little wooden barrels in the bed of the truck! Sub 8-)

OD? Just who is that? Is he from around here? ;) LOL
