Hello Guys
Got out for a few hours yesterday between the rain storms and found this 1895 Confederate Veteran Reunion badge and an old home site.
This Reunion was held on Memorial day weekend 1895 in Houston.
The UCV organization was founded in 1889 and at this reunion in Houston the Constitution and Bylaws were first adopted.
This hobby has many historical rewards by the things you learn by digging items like these.
The ground wasn't to kind to this badge but you can make out 1895 Reunion at the top and Houston texas at the bottom. Harder to see is the Letters UCV intertwined in the middle of the badge. There is some writing on the back but I can't make it out yet. Maybe a makers mark or best case senario
it's the soldiers name.
Anyway a fun dig for sure.
