I got out for my first hunt of this year. The temperature was about 40 degrees and sunny. I went to a vacant lot where 2 1900's era houses were torn down last year, a place where I have permission to detect whenever I want. Last year I found some buffalo, V, and war nickels, and many wheaties here. The ground was frozen when I started, but soon I was in some major mud. I was using my XLT with the 4x6 DD coil, and it worked very well. I got 3 wheaties, a 1945 war nickel, a couple of buttons, some newer coins, a silver pocket watch face, and a 1901 S barber dime. Also I had a very full pouch of trash. Thanks for looking and HH, Niffler

Okay, I gotcha. Whatever it is sitting on faked me out.

Nice dime. Key date, in good books for 80.00 bucks. Less in dug condition. A barber day is a great day.

Thanks for all the nice replies. I had no idea it was a key date, I'm more of a jewelry guy. I took some more pictures that are a little clearer. I hope this is a sign that this year will be good. Thanks and HH, Niffler
