Found this buried in Pensacola Florida in the bay, Any ideals?

I'd ask a Wiccan?! Or a Native American. Or maybe some kid buried it for fun.
Ritual or fun it was buried. And it was recent I surmise because wood rots pretty fast.

If it's wood, how did you find it? Part of it sticking up out of the sand and you eye-balled it?

Looks African,if so it most likely is Ebony.
