Not a very clear picture but i found this in a cotton field in lower alabama. It says southern with three stars below it. Does anyone know what this may have went on or if it carries any significance to anything? Inccant find anything online about it. I know its really old

Cool looking button and there are some really astute button guys here but most will like to see a clear photo of the back and a diameter size. It might help if you could post a photo of the back. Looks like a blue jeans button but we need to see the back.

Nice find, Congrats!!!

Definitely what is called a "work wear" button. Probably from overalls.

That would definitely explain why and where i found it. Still cool to me. Has a story of its own, Ill take it. Thanks guys, I couldnt find a single picture. The area I was searching has more things from so many times in history, amazing stuff to me. I have found bone tools, ancient oyster shells formed into scrapers i assume, 1890s nickle perfume bottle in amazing condition considering being plowed around a hundred years lol. Anyway, from Creek Indian to modern farming technology, ive found it all and only 40%or so percent...maybe has been searched.....this place is HUGE. I cant wait to go after they get done collecting the cotton and plow it soon.
