These were the relics found at this site. Notice the counterweight on the Tomahawk or throwing ax blade. The hole for the stem or handle is about as big around as my pinky. (finger that is) LOL. We determined that it has to be a Tomahawk or throwing ax because of the counterweight and thinness of the blade. One good wack on a piece of even kindling wood, would probably snap the handle. Has anyone else ever seen one like this??? Are we correct in our assumption? Help is greatly appreciated. If you notice also, the top button has a small clip attached. Was pretty kool, never seen a button with this clip. Todd

With the weight added it may be a throwing ax so you may be right, the small size is what makes it unique. Neat finds!! Any maker marks on the buttons to get a time frame?

The left buckle is only the centre piece of a larger late 18th century shoe buckle.

The right Spectular buckle is a very early US find.

Nice work, well done!! :)

These are all Colonial Era finds--and Very Nice ones. I think you're correct about the throwing axe. There are books that list old iron tools and weapons from that era, and I'm sure someone who has such a resource will give you more information about the piece.
