no it was in AZ, or Texas found it in an old river bed.

Never ever photograph a mineral wet if not Labradorite or opal rough..
It doesn't show us the lustre. :icon_thumleft:

As for what it is.. I am uncertain. Serpentine would be scratched with a knife, most other alternatives would not. :thumbsup:

The "black" areas look like re-filled cracks.

ok some one ask me to wash it then take photos of it, and put them on here. but its not been filled in its just the way it looks if you wish i can put more dry photos

WW2 mine detector, D-Tex Standard, D-Tex Deluxe, A.H. Pro Discriminator, various Whites, Fisher 1265-X, Fisher 1270, Fisher F75, Fisher Gold Bug,Tesoro Sand Shark. And maybe others that I forgot?
From this distance, looks like a piece of chert to me. Lots of it in California. Geologyjohn.
