In the Central States Archaeological Journal, Volume 63, January 2016, Number 1. There is an article on the Guilford Ax it is from the middle archaic period and description fits your ax. You could do a search on the Central States Archaeological Society and may be able to pull up an article on this ax because several have been written on it over the years.
