Found us a new Colonial site... Coppers & Buttons
Out for a couple digs with Ironhorse as usual, but the Patriot paid us the visit and stole the thunder, and I guess the lightning too! Man he dug one sweet coin... then a real sweet one 15 minutes later. I think I said "I can't believe that just happened" 6 or 7 times. That was after I called him names and said to leave a couple for the good guys. (me) Anyway, enough about that and on to my finds.
I certainly dug my share of targets and did have some decent results, though the coppers were pretty brutal. There's a 1781 Hibernia, 1731 brit. George, a bunch not worth talking about, and a very nice 1696 French Liard. These early Fr. coins very rarely come out in decent readable condition. The buttons I made out a little better on. Dug quite a few in total including a few large ones and one of the best condition I've ever found. Also got a Rev War Royal Provincials pewter pretty busted up, and a nice silver 15th. The last item I believe is a very large lead seal but that's just a guess and it will be going on the what is it forum. >>>> (ID'ed as a Lead toy sun Dial.) The last picture is a group shot of all that was mentioned above plus everything else found. Was a great hunt, one the Patriot deserved after a few not so good ones. He was smiling ear to ear when he left... and I have a funny feeling he'll be back!
PS... Kirk PA... You have no game like that.
