Just before turning on my detector I decided to look a area where people have campfires and catfish. I found a nice stem point a few years back at this same place on the edge of a burned and still smoking campfire. Well found some chips but no points but they lead me to this celt that was over half buried next to the campfire pit. People today fishing and hanging out just like the Native Americans were doing years before.

Great find and this shows how most folks walk right over artifacts from all time periods. Glad you saved it:thumbsup:

I know for sure if I dug this spot it could be very productive. Through the days of summer people fish this spot every weekend and on weekdays to. High traffic area. Most people have no thoughts of looking for artifacts and the ones that do don't know what to look for. I won't dig this spot and would rather leave it undisturbed.
