I hunted an old baseball field again today for about 5 hours. Two weeks ago I hit it for 6 hours and found nothing! But today the older coins were popping right out of the ground! Final count: 4 Silver Dimes, 3 Wheat Cents, 2 Indian Head Pennies, 1 Indian Head Nickel.

1937, 1945 Mercury Dimes
1963, 1964 Roosevelt Dimes
1952D, 1944, 1957D Wheat Cents
1884, 1885 Indian Head Pennies

Awesome!! I went on a silver drought for a good while and the most I had ever found was 1 a day and the BOOM! I had a three silver day... two in one hole. I stopped right there because I knew I wouldn't do any better and wanted to end on a good note. Hope I can match you four in one day some day lol

4 silvers in a day matches my record day! That's an awesome outing. Amazing how some days it just seems effortless, and others....well... you know. :)

Great job Twinkle! Were all of the coins in the same general area, or were they all spread out? Curious how deep they were too. HH !

Once I find an old coin I circle out from that spot. If I find another, I grid an area and really search it. In this case I ended up setting a grid of approximately 100 ft by 150 ft. I found all the coins in that area. All coins were 5"-7" deep. Thanks for asking. H Digs!

Asking old timers is always good advice; I was told that our local Dixie youth ball field used to be a football practice field in the 40s. I tried it out in the off season and it yielded about 20 silver coins. Lots of war nickels, wheats and even barber qtr n dime found between 2 hunters.

Here's a metal detecters blessing for each of you: "May many clouds lose their silver lining, and money burn a hole in every pocket."
Thanks guys! Keep digging!
