Wont bother to throw my opinion on the grade because of so many factors ( including the fact that its a dug coin & that devalues it ), but I will say it is a great coin to dig & any time you can dig a Half Dollar is a great outing.

I don't believe there are any key date Franklin halves, but it's a very cool find!

Nice find. :occasion14: I did a happy dance when I dug mine. No key dates for the Bens. It's still a nice big silver in the hole.

From what I read its a semi key date due to is low mint, it's about $10-$20 more over a non S mint mark franklin

No. If in ms65 it might be. Other than that they all go for roughly the same. Still doesn't take away from a awesome coin!!

First off...nice find! Half-dollar finds are always awesome and "hunt makers"! Now, accurately grading coins from photographs, especially small ones like yours, is next to impossible. Whenever I chime in with a potential grade, I use words like "looks like" or "about" or "could be".

Somewhere around VF I would say. Circulated ones seem to be going for anywhere from $6 to $13 on ebay.

Any Franklin half dollar is a great find. They are far less common coming out of the ground than Walkers. Finding a semi key date makes it all the better. Nice find.

Huh. I like Brads (treblehunter) grading and he licks his coins. Congrats though - don't halves feel so big?!
