I hope there are some Frankoma pottery collectors out there. I am a bottle collector, but found something interesting in a local thrift store recently that I passed on at the time. I lived in Tulsa for about a decade and am familiar with Frankoma pottery styles, but the piece I found stumped me. It appeared to have a black stencil or sticker added, but very professionally done. I couldn't find anything on the web that looked like it, so a couple of days later, I went back & got it. 20180926_174623.jpg . I finally found a match and well, wow, it's a sterling silver overlay from the early 40's. 20180926_180812.jpg Frankoma sent a few styles to a silver place in New York to add the overlay. Can anyone give me a ballpark figure? It is the sugar bowl of the cream & sugar set, #87A (which is a discrepancy, the Frankoma catalog lists this style of the plain sugar bowl as #87B)

I've seen a lot of frankoma over the years, but never one enhanced with sterling overlay like that, so I can only guess there isn't a whole lot of them out there. Do you know if that originally came with a lid or not ?

I don't think it ever had a lid. I have not found a picture of any with a lid, not even in the 1940's catalog.
