Fraternal order Sword bits and Machete blade

Found this bit of a Knights of Pythias ceremonial sword scabbard and from the looks the sword was still in the scabbard when it was abandoned/lost. Found in the remains of an old house that had collapsed along with several rusty metal fragments which look like portions of the scabbard/blade fused together. I think it may have gotten broken when the house collapsed and in spite of my best efforts I haven't been able to find any other bits of the brass. The nail bed is very thick there and the house had a sheet metal roof which complicates things.

Nearby I found an interesting piece of steel that looked kind of familiar.



It lines up perfectly with my Collins and co machete!
