Well, I got out to detect a bit after work yesterday. I hit the woods and the yard of the 190 acre property I've been detecting for about three years now. I had a rough time in the woods though. First I lost my Vibra Probe and had to back track to find it.
Fortunately I got it back. :icon_thumleft: Later I slipped on a wet tree root and went down quick, but not before doing the splits that a cheerleader would be envious of. :tongue3: Age must be setting in. :dontknow:

Any idea if this is a Colonial shoe buckle??? UPDATE: It's a SASH buckle per a members ID below.
Finds were:
*Tombac button (woods find)
*1935 Japanese coin (woods find)
*Sash shoe buckle (woods find)
*Dog tag (woods find)
*Asst'd iron including a bent spike (woods)
*Vintage TootsieToy truck (yard)

Thanks for looking,
MM

The buckle is stamped brass. Shoe buckles are cast brass. I think HillBilly is right calling it a sash buckle.

Nice recoveries MM. The iron ring had an attachment that would have been been nailed to a post or barn to tie up horses maybe. Like the truck. I predict CW relics for your next hunt. HH, Quindy.

Thanks for that buckle ID HB. :icon_thumleft:
I found an LC last year finally out in a horse pasture. It was an 1850. :icon_thumleft: They sure are scarce for me though. :dontknow:

I hear ya. A year on the tag would have been great. Short phone # though. ;D
