My neighbor across the tracks has been doing some clearing and burning on his land all the way to the tracks. He's been pushing all the cut down saplings and dead wood (plus lots of trash) into piles and then burning. The winds were pretty chilly but the sun felt good. The land is right where the old original city depot used to sit.

This is the second or third depot from '59. The others were destroyed by flooding in the late 1800's and early 1900's. I found the lock just back to left of this pic where the trees used to be. It was in his burn pile, just on the edge. I wasn't really even detecting at the time just scanning for arrowheads (also found here) and my detector went off. Right on the side of the pile of ashes..FRISCO Signal NO.2 lock for me..a lot worse shape than my first one, but it will clean up!

Thanks creskol! I've only found 2 RR locks and they are both the same...Probably because I'm hunting the same tracks...lol

Thanks RustyGold! Just wondering how to clean this puppy...my first one was found in a rock pile, not in the ground, and not burned..came out pretty sweet!

Excellent find and congrats on finding #2. Any idea on a rough manufacture date?

Thanks everyone. Just got home from work and trying to catch up. Just realized I typed that I found the 1st one 20 years ago...it should read 10 years ago. (almost to the day...lol) I guess the excitement beer I drank made me type the wrong number....lol Thanks again!!
