Hey fellow tnetters! It's been a long time for me hunting or posting.

Finally got out to a few sites this past week. One was a school and the other was an old foundation.

Found the love token (if you can call it that) at an old foundation in the woods. Thing was deep and I almost gave up, thinking it was deep iron. Has holes on the side, to wear as a necklace.

Hopefully I'll be posting more that the temps are coming down!

Awesome find I love finding tokens as much as silver. That's really cool hope to see more posts from you. I'm the same way I hunt more in the fall and winter than the summer. Good luck. Tommy

That token looks like it was fabricated from an Australian coin...neat find!

I have a necklace like your token find that is made from an Australian coin also dated 1943 and the back was smoothed off and has Mother engraved on it. Way cool find! I dug mine here in se Iowa.

Interesting. The back on this is also smooth, with holes on the sides to be put on a necklace. Mine doesn't have mother engraved. I wonder if this were mass produced by someone - the date, etc seems way too coincidental.

Not impossible, because many were made by lots of different people during WWII. Love tokens in general made during WWI & WWII were common, what is interesting is they both hadn't been 'tagged' yet?

Yeah, not sure why I didn't think of the WW2 connection. Makes sense.
