Maverick Token. Obverse: Fabbrini Bros. / and / Cella. / 1903 / Milwaukee Ave / and 3033 / Cottage Grove Av. Reverse: 2 1/2. Token is aluminum, 26mm. Would appreciate city & state.
Well, this one is pretty certainly from Chicago, IL. It is not in the Vacketta Trade Tokens of IL book, but with those street addresses on it, there is no other choice. From what I can decipher, the brothers were Puntuale John Fabbrini and Robert Precise Fabbrini. There were too many people named Cella in Chicago for me to figure out which one was the partner. The Fabbrini Brothers listed their business as "restaurant and saloon". The token was most likely used in their saloons to make correct change. A whiskey drink or good cigar was priced at "2 for a quarter" or 12½¢ each. So a customer buying one with a quarter was given a dime and one of these tokens in change.
