Across the road from me (literally) there is a 25acre +/- hay field that is owned by mtneighbor. The farm dates to about 1800, as I later found out. About two months ago I started doing a little hunting under some apple trees and started finding a few things. My first Walking Liberty Half, Silver Washington, harmonica reeds and the finds startd to show up as I fanned out from the tree. As time went on I was able to find two better spots in the field where most of the finds came from.
I ran home like Forest Gump when I found the first 1803 Draped Bust Large Cent. The next good find was the George Washington Inaugural Button. I was not evan sure what I had untill later :tard: Next was another 1803 Draped Bust Large Cent from about 50 feet from where the first one was found :o I kept on hunting this time :D A few days later in a totaly random part of the field I found Large Cent #3. This one is a very used up Classic head. She may not be pretty but she makes me proud.
I was happy to finish my season in this field with a 1959 silver Rosie. The ground is frozen and time to move onto my coin collection for the winter.
All this with my ACE 250 and a combination of all three coils.
Thanks for looking and happy hunting VPR

Thank You for the replies. I am pretty proud of this button and I am sure that it will be the center piece of any display that I make of my finds.
I also hope to be upgraded to a Minelab X-70 by springtime and research the field. I am willing to bet that there is much more to be found here

Thats one of my dream finds a GW button. The coins are in great shape too, mine are usually worn and or pitted.

That CASE eagle is an awesome find (for me) Tehre is a very similar one on the old Thresher we have at the farm.
