Had my pointer out the other day and it started going off for no reason Anyone else have the problem ?

I had that problem and I replaced the batteries and it was fine

If shutting it off,then restarting it does not help and its a staccato chatter i too replace battery.
Don,t know if it affects others but i feel removing battery after hunt until next use seems to prolong life.

That happened to me. I swapped out the batteries and it still was happening. I sent it in to Garrett and in no time at all they sent me a new one.
