Garrett S-2 informatiom please

I just picked up a real nice Garrett S-2 deep scan,it's the first Garrett I owned,but I haven't a clue as to how to set it,I mean I read some where that when setting it you need to lift the coil up hi off the ground but I can't find where I read that ,is there anyone who knows how to work this thing
