Ghost Mine is a new hour-long reality show on SyFy that combines Ghost Hunter with Gold Rush. Set in an abandoned and reportedly haunted mine in Oregon.

Ghost Mine, which will air as six one-hour long episodes, will follow the new owner of one of the richest yet allegedly haunted gold mines in Oregon and his hired team of miners and paranormal investigators as they look for fortune in the mine that has been abandoned for 80 years after a series of tragedies occurred.

Ghost Mine will premiere on Wednesday, January 16 at 10PM ET/PT

First time we get to see a hard rock mining so-called reality show.

Meet the cast:

I'm looking forward to the show just because it's set in a hard rock mine.
I guess this will bring the gold mining reality show total to SEVEN!

As long as they don't do the "if you can hear me make a noise" routine.

I'll watch an episode.

Bamazon has been the worst one yet but this one might beat it. :)

The previous crew probably walked off because: A. They were getting screwed. or B. There's no gold.

I'm with the others though, I want to see some hard rock mining. In the meantime, I found these guys recently. The have got the best collection of photos taken while exploring old mines. Some amazing photos in there, but no ghosts.

even SCI-Fi has gotten in the act with 'Ghost Mine'

I wish I lived there, I wanna work with the Red head :laughing7:

GhostMine.jpg

this is a six-episode show that spends all its time at one location, the Crescent Mine in Sumpter, Ore. It’s an abandoned gold mine, supposedly haunted in a major way but also supposedly still rich in precious metals. Second, it’s part ghost show, part mining reality show as it’s a working mine that just happens to get investigated.

The mine’s new owner, Larry Overman, has already lost one full crew to ghosts, so he brings in Patrick Doyle and Kristen Luman to find out what’s happening as his foreman breaks in a new team of seasoned and newbie miners. But according to the show, miners are a superstitious lot. They’re always on the lookout for tommyknockers (ghosts), and the veterans don’t take well to the investigators stirring things up, especially since one of them is a red-headed woman (a double no-no in mining, apparently).

I missed it so

just watched the first episode,online.

was 50% Ghost hunting 50% setting the mine up for mining.

Personally, I didn't find anything to complain about :( :laughing9:

Was a good first episode

BEWARE Spoiler Alert below

although peoples superstitions are always lame to me.
the guys heard noises , left the mine,
the ghost hunters entered found a cave in.
both sides blamed "Tommy Knockers"
obviously it was the noise of the impending cave in :tongue3:

But hey, whatever works to save lives

Pretty cool look into an old mine and the superstitions that the old time miners harbor.
Glad it wasn't as "cheesy" as I thought it may be.

The miners sure have their work cut out for them getting the abandond mine operational.
Just replacing all the rotten timbers could take a whole season.

Hopefully the pay has been mapped out by a geologist and the owner is not counting on the hunt and peck method as seen carried out by the greenhorn.

Anyway watching the show makes me glad that I don't have to depend on working in an old abandoned haunted mine. :tongue3:
But I wouldn't mind visiting it.
