She is listed in Marx's Shipwrecks in the Americas, but without some possibly very important details...

9 "boxes"...
Wonder how much is in a "box".
No mention of total boxes.
Residue specie... could have been 100 pieces ... or one "box" out of 10.

I am not sure where his information comes from, but Marx lists $30,000 in specie as being lost in the wreck.

Not exactly a treasure galleon, but nothing to sneeze at...

Early 1800's gold specie...
Some or all in NM state...
Could be worth a sneeze... heh
Even if silver ... would be worth at least a cough.

The Princess Charlotte sank April 14, 1819. Passengers and crew were saved. Carl Fizmer got a contract with the Bahamas govt. on 6/96. He found the box of coins. I bought one of them from Fizz.

Thanks for the information. Good stuff. It makes me feel good to come across a story that strikes me as having potential---even if I am 20 years too late !! LOL. I didn't look into this story very much as its WAY out of my area and we all know the current situation in the Bahamas. In any event, I would be curious to find out how many coins Fismer recovered and what form the coins took as far as nationality, denomination, etc.

I don't know how many he found but it was a bunch. He couldn't get rid of them all. I bought 4 Four Real Spanish coins for $25 each.
