Hi all, In the evenings i have been giving my brother a hand to renovate the shop which he leases.The shop is located on the gound floor of a historic building and up stairs until 1952 was the Bendigo Gold Exchange
The exchange operated for 100 years.Theres a link for history

On Monday night we removed a false wall to replace some pipes and found a heep of old papers and rubbish which belong the the owner of a ladies hat shop which operated at this location in 1950's.we found this pin which was the royal visit in 1954 and a silver pin which can be found in What is it

gold exchange? if they were "raw" gold dust & nugget buyers then check the floor boards and such --fine gold dust might have settled in the "cracks"---some of the old trading spots in the old west saloons have bits of gold flake hung in the floor board cracks (almost like a "gold" seam)---where it was dumped into scale pans and such for weighing or leaky "poke" bags dribbed fine gold dust on the floors.---Ivan

eazy---- the bloke tin pan said the pin was found in a "gold exchange"---they found it in the wall while tearing into it (so they can tear up the place) if the site was a old "raw" gold exchange place where miners came in to exchange gold dust and nuggets for cash--there is a good chance it has wood floor and thus gold dust in the floor boards just like the old west saloons---get the gold out of them---with the gold from them you can buy all the mexican beans or any other kind of beans you want no matter what the price is cuz gold worth more than beans ---use your noodle on this one---- Ivan
